Sarah Vane b. Michelmersh in March 1854 and died January 1944 aged 90.
« on: Saturday 18 July 09 15:23 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any information about Sarah Vane and her family. She married John Geary (d.1911) at Kings Somborne on 06 Feb 1883 and I believe they lived at Kings Somborne and later at Brook. They had two sons: William George, probably known as George who married Emily, and Walter Charles. Contact from any descendants of William George , or information on him, would be most welcomed in my research. When Sarah died the following attached Obituary appeared in the Romsey Advertiser.    Thank you. JohnCH.

Hi,
I am a descendant of the Geary family and in fact used to live in King's Somborne. My grand mother was a Geary before she married and become a Davis. I have some of the Geary family on my tree on Ancestry. Please do get in touch.
Linda

 :) Hello Linda.

I am the grandson of Walter Geary of Romsey, who was born in Kings Somborne in 1891. He was the son of John Geary and Sarah Vane. Walter married Florence Wheeler in 1922. She was born in Michelmersh in 1890. Walter left K.Somborne. to work first as a fishmonger, then later on the Mountbatten Estate, eventually becoming Head Water Bailiff there for 50 years, until his death in 1971. I should love to hear of your Geary connections and am hoping you may be able to shed some light on Walter's brother (poss. George) and mother, which was what this original request was about on rootschat.

If you would prefer, I can be contacted at my private email which I can send to you.

Best wishes.
I look forward to hearing from you.    JohnCH.

Hello John,
Would you have a tree on Ancestry .co.uk? This is where I have my tree and find lots of useful information, your grandfather Walter Charles Geary was my 1st cousin 2x's removed.John was my grand uncle,so that would make us about 3rd cousin 4x's removed.
Yes it would be better to write to your private e-mail address.
regards Linda
