I have been looking at the baptism registers for Ardleigh in Essex and the images available at the Essex RO website at http://seax.essexcc.gov.cc  D/P 263/1/5 for years 1790-1812.
At the end of the 1812 baptisms there are some pages about church inventories etc and a survey of the parish conducted in 1795? by visitation by, presumably, the vicar. The results are compiled by family groups including servants and give ages and relationships.
Anyway in image 16 of the above website reference is included a William Tricker age 30 a servant of George Biggs innkeeper.
I have not seen any Tricker baptisms in 1790-1812 but I have seen lots of Mira(h)s* baptised and wonder if there is an underlying reason for that.

I cannot recall seeing that forename before anywhere in Essex

My collected data lists a William Tricker base born 8 May 1785 in Eye mother listed as Mira Tricker (maybe Miram shorten as have reference to this name elsewhere) I have no birth/baptism for Mira in Eye before this date but record Tricker here as early as 1705.

I record the following details with the birth record but not necessary found with it just that it seems to relate to this William - illegite. Poss Harrison was father but they were not married at the time if they ever did Creator(s): Church of England, Wortham Parish, Suffolk Information and complaint of Richard Minter of Wortham, bleacher, against William Tricker of Eye, collar-maker, for not keeping to his agreement with Richard Marjerom his apprentice ref. FB131/G1/21 - date: 24th Mar 1817

I have the baptism as 8Sep1875 mother as Mira
(I listed both birth/baptism as have no reference to Harrison on baptism not sure how accurate IGI is, it may be speculation).

He married Sarah TAYLOR 14Oct1809 in Eye both were single a Robert TAYLOR was listed as bondsman and was a witness to the marriage.

1830 Pigots directory list under Saddlers one William TRICKER, Castle St, Eye

I record their house address in 1841 as Sowgate St, Eye and agree with the assessment of Robert being a grandchild probably son of Sarah but there was on other daughter surviving Elizabeth who does not appear in the 1841 census. I have no reference to Robert after 1841.

I list Sarah as being buried 25Sep1847 aged 65 (1782) and William 14Oct1847 aged 62 (1785)

I record 9 children (5F & 4M) 3 girls died before age 15, Sarah mentioned in the census I have being buried 18Nov842, Elizabeth I connect to a marriage to a John LARKMAN 25Aug1843 in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Of the males a Robert died as an infant, Samuel I do not find anything on after 1841 and a James marries a Louisa WATLING in 1862 and lives and dies in Swaffham, Norfolk in 1893 Louisa in 1913.

William was bap 21 Jun 1812, married Elizabeth JESSUP 20Jan1848 in Eye. I add the following notes - William single, full age a Harnessmaker, married after banns read 2, 9 & 16 Jan 1847, father: William a harnessmaker. 1879 Kelly's Directory list William, saddler & harness maker, Lowgate Street
Elizabeth single full age, father: Charles a coachmaker The marriage record shows her name as Betsey, finding the Chr record for Elizabeth dau of Charles and Maria Jessup 5 June 1825 supports name change.
William buried 2 Feb1876 aged 65 and Elizabeth 11 Jan 1879 aged 53 in Eye.

William and Elizabeth first born was named William Jessup TRICKER 1848-1888 as suggested. I am guessing you know the rest it would be good to catch up one day and compare notes.

In preparing this I have just connected that my great grandfather married a TAYLOR who was born in Great Oakley but her grand father came from Eye, I will have to check for any connection to Sarah TAYLOR it would be same time period

Regards

thanks tryykersfield!  alot of that matched what i already have! we thought william could possibly be illigitamate but wasnt sure!
also i think all the jessups died of the plague as they all died in the same year apart from mira who survived  till she was in her 70's
, im unsure of how the jessups came into it as they are mentioned in the bible but not how they are connected :S
