There is an enlistment for  one of the sons of the first marriage.
Fitzgerald, Francis Robert b.1919 at Richmond Victoria..
He enlisted in Perth and his Next of Kin was Teresa DONNISON.
This was in 1940, so the second marriage had taken place by then.

FITZGERALD Francis
HALL Theresa

Don't you think the above registration is their marriage in Victoria? You could purchase and immediately download  [$17.50] from

DONNISON  William J.

The sons have summaries of their WW2 service however Ronald Joseph with NOK Teresa, has 1919 as his birth year  - actually b. 1922 WA!
http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/

Interesting that Ronald has NOK mother Teresa FITZGERALD when he enlisted in 1941 and Francis has NOK Teresa DONNISON when he enlisted in 1940.  Perhaps the younger son wasn't in contact with family and has obviously put up his age.

I can see no death registration for Francis Robert FITZGERALD Snr on the death indexes in WA.

Neither Francis Snr or Teresa Martha  FITZGERALD's appear to have enrolled to vote in WA.

Marriage

FITZGERALD     Ronald J

The elder son doesn't appear to have married c1943 in WA.

I am wondering whether or not you think I have given you the correct HALL/FITZGERALD marriage?

Hi
Yes it could be the marriage of Theresa Martha Hall to Francis Robert Fitzgerald. Theresa has a sister or half sister called Rena (? not sure of her first name) Margaret Hall and she married Robert Hall. Trying to find out if Francis Robert Fitzgerald snr have a brother or sister. Not sure if Theresa Martha Hall was adopted in New Zealand or Australia.
Regards

Well it is the only marriage of those names on the Victorian Indexes....plus there is the  birth of their son.

I am having difficulty finding a birth for Francis Robert...there are none in Vic at all.  If you had the marriage certificate it would give his age at time of marriage, the parents names and then we could progress from there.

The marriage certificate would also give you Teresa's place of birth and parents' names.

What evidence supports the adoption of Teresa Martha HALL?  Adoption was not legalised until the mid 1920's in Vic.

[See from reply # 17 ]

The marriage certificate would also give you Teresa's place of birth and parents' names.

.... and perhaps put paid to this "mystery" ??     :D

Thanks Lu for  the link  to  the New Zealand  thread certainly  more information on  there thats helps with whis  thread. 8)  You are not silly for not discovering  this thread, would have been  very helpfull if Kazo had linked  the two, but as Kazo is new to  the boards perhaps Kazo will  bear that in mind  for next time. :D

Kazo  you  could try the  White pages on line
http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/busSearch.jhtml

There are 6 Donningtons listed in WA and as it is an unusual name you  may  very well contact a living relative.

kind thoughts Jenn
