William Schofield
« on: Wednesday 15 July 09 17:58 BST (UK) »
Would somebody mind doing a baptism look-up for me for William Schofield born between 1790 and 1800 in Rochdale. The only other clue I have is that he was married in 1819 and is described as 'of this parish'. There may be more than one but that is still OK because my one died in 1832 and I may be able to eliminate others from census records.

Many thanks

Roger

Hi

Have you tried the Lancs OPC website.  I would check for you but it appears to be having problems at the moment so I can't get in

Thanks for the suggestion. However, there are no baptism records for St Chad's between 1790 and 1800 except for 1800. Does this mean they are not available or just not transcribed yet?

Another look-up please!
I'm looking for the marriage of William Schofield to Mally Hall around 1820 possibly in Ashton-under-Lyne. Is anyone available?

Thanks

Roger

Hi

As this is a different request - it should be a new post.  What is Mally short for?

Mally is not short for anything. It was quite a popular name in the late 18th Century. Also, I've checked on the IGI and it came up with no matches.

Are you sure her surname was Hall and not Holt?
