Baptist minister-Hackney
« on: Wednesday 15 July 09 16:48 BST (UK) »
I am looking for census details about my great great grandmother HANNAH BIDE (b. 1830 Farnham). She was married in 1849 in Farnham to Henry GRAY.  They had 7 children I know about from Kezia in 1857 to Annie in 1872, but it is possible their may have been other children born between1849 and 1857. Henry was later a Baptist minister in West Hartlepool in 1881, but all the children I know about were born in Hackney, Middlesex.
Can anyone find Henry and Hannah GRAY as a couple in 1851/61/71?
or before they married in 1841?
Many thanks, Maggie.

Many thanks Liz for all that detail. I had a feeling that there might be older children that I hadn't yet discovered. I haven't got any of the certificates yet, so that looks like my next move! It looks like Henry had many jobs before finding his faith.
Thanks again, Maggie.

Hi Maggie
Hannah Bide was my Great-great Grandmother, too! Her daughter Adah married my Great Grandfather Phatuel Granger on 29/5/1884. They lived in Hartlepool and had 6 children, though I think 3 died in childhood. I can give you those details if it would be useful.

I had struggled to find more details of Adah's family, so this is really helpful.

Kind regards
Sheena

Hi Sheena, thanks for your posting, I'd love to hear details of Adah's family. I didn't realise she had lived in Hartlepool. Do you have any photos of the Grays? I have a family photo which I believe may be Hannah Bide with her 7 daughters. One of them would be Adah, but I have no proof- only my mother's memory!

Hi Maggie

Do you have access to Genes Reunited? If so, I can give you permission to view the family tree. The Grangers & Storms of Robin Hood's Bay and Hartlepool are a huge family, and all seem inter-related! I've managed to get back to the 1600's.
I don't have any photos unfortunately.

Kind regards
Sheena
