The IGI has an informant that recorded a Robert Tyllyer baptised 1815 in Southwark Surrey.
Wonder whether there was an error there and it was Southwick Sussex?

Thank you
we had  found the 1841 census entry, but are not sure if William had a sister called Emily, and are unsure how Sarah is related.
we did find the entry for william,s marriage on family search, which lists his father as edwin, but cannot find edwin on any census, or a death..

It would be worth getting the marriage certificate.  You will see the reference on Freebmd.org.uk and that also shows a possible marriage for a Sarah Tyllyer in Steyning.  There were several entries for that name and I did not try alternative spellings which will probably bring up lots more.
