Avoch Cemetery

Hi

I was wondering if anyone with good knowledge of Avoch could help me out.

My MIL's grandparents and great-gran are buried in Lairs A20 and 21. We have been to the cemetery twice now with the plan from the SErvice point, but haven't been able to get a good idea where the plots are. There are no stones so it has been very difficult.

I was wondering if there was anyway to find out the names of the people in the adjoining plots to help us narrow it down. The Service Point said they sadly couldn't help us, but we may be able to find out in an M.I book? Could someone tell me how to go about getting one?

I have Avoch MIs got it from Highland family History society. 

What are the names you are looking for?  In the Avosh MIs it starts off with section1 (starts just inside the gate on the right, and stone is listed as 101 then it goes upwards

there is nothing for John Munro/Eliz Cooper/Matlida Hamilton.

Depending what dates you are looking at, there are 2 Cemeteries in Avoch. There is Avoch Old Parish Churchyard and Avoch Burial Ground. The oldest stones I have a copy of in the Burial Ground date from about the 1930's.

If I remember rightly, the older church grounds were over crowded and people were buried without headstones.

My grandpa used to say that the poorer familes would sneak in pre-1900's and bury their passed family members without being seen.

I am looking for the burial place of Norman McFarlane who died 8 Dec 1866 Avoch and his wife Isabela McLeod who died 10 June 1891 Bay Cottage Avoch.
They were married 15 June 1833 Avoch. children George, Ann, Isabella all born Avoch. Would they be in Rosemarkie?

I wonder would you be so kind and look for my Charles Mc/Mac Pherson In the Avoch MIs?
His death certificate says he is buried in Avoch church yard. September 1860.
