Sue,

Regarding the baptism records for the children of Christopher and Elizabeth Robinson.  Unfortunately the parish registers do not contain any additional information such as abode or occupation.

There are no recorded baptisms for any further children of Christopher and Elizabeth Robinson.

If I can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Very Best Wishes
CJL

Is anyone else out there researching John Robinson of Hilderthorpe near Burlington Yorkshire, Merchant & Ship owner who died in 1764 according to the Allan Papers ( 22 Boxes), solicitor & grandson Thomas Allan 1774-1845 who married in 1795 Esther Robinson (1763-1844, father Thomas Robinson 1725-1815)
 Methodist Magazine 1819, page 738 & 1826, pages 289, 361
Thomas & William Robinson were  lay ministers with the newly commenced Methodist Movement mentioned in the family Allan papers in the National Archives.
[13] The original of this letter was preserved by Thomas Robinson Allan, whose mother was a daughter of Thomas Robinson, with his note: 'A letter of Mr. Wesley's which I found among some papers which had belonged either to my grandfather Thomas or to his brother William Robinson.' Thomas died in February 1815; William on September 3, 1819, aged ninety-one. Their father was a merchant and shipowner at Bridlington, and had a farm at Helderthorp, a mile from Bridlington Quay, which Thomas, who had been a hardware merchant in Sheffield, afterwards occupied. William went to sea with their ships, but settled as a merchant in North Shields, and afterwards removed to Bridlington. See Methodist Magazine, 1819, p. 738; 1826, pp. 289, 361

Methodist Magazine
Description He was a son of John Robinson a merchant and shipowner of Bridlington and a farmer at Hilderthorpe. He was sent to sea in one of his father's ships, and after continuing in this employ for several years he married and settled as a merchant at North Shields, he later moved back to Bridlington Quay in 1769. Here with his brother Thomas he established a Methodist Chapel. William had no talent for preaching but was a Class Leader. He also attended the services at the Established Church.

Year. 1826

Month: May

There was also a sermons given at the time of Thomas Robinson death Feb 1815 & his brother William who died in 1819 but both over 20 pages long & very expensive to have copied & could just be a sermon & give no more info than I already have

John Robinson( died 1764) & his sons Thomas ( 1725-1815) & William (died 1819, 91 yrs) seem to have been involved in the early shipping history of Hull & Bridlington before Captain Cook ( 1728-1779)discovered Australia in 1770. Maybe they left Wills?

;D Hi Sue....sorry to butt into one of your other threads, but it appears to be your latest post.  This is Robyne Ayres (nee Griffith), re the Griffiths/Bleakleys etc of Cavan and Longford and I have lost your email address and consequently lost touch with you and anyone else on this line, including Les Griffith.  We had a computer crash and burn and then moved house in the last year.  Would love to get back in touch with you.

Hope to year from you  :)
Cheers, Robyne
