Stumped any help
« on: Thursday 09 July 09 19:54 BST (UK) »
Hello out there I am quite new to all this and I am getting to know how and where to look now and have had a lot of help from Roots, but I am completely puzzled by  one side of my family .  My grandmother was Cathrine Foden born 1905 her parents were Mary Foden nee Donnelly (her father was Bernard) and Father was Joseph Foden and his father was also Joseph  Cathrine was born in New Summer Street Birmingham

Mary Donnelly was born in 1874 and Joseph Foden was born in 1869/70.

I cannot seem to trace the Fodens anywhere and I have  not tried the Donnelly's as yet.

Whenever I try and trace a Foden It seems they are all up in Lancashire and surrounding areas no where near Birmingham and I cannot find a connection

Any advice

Gracelands

Hi Jan

I think Walter must be 17 or a very precocious 4 yr old as he is listed as a gun maker  ;D Looks as if Joseph senior was married before.

Hi - yes you're right he was 17, showed up as 4 on the front page and I didn't check!

That explains why he isn't with the family in 1881. Hope Joseph senior didn't die as a result of an accident with the guns he was making  ;D

 ;D Jan

Still can't see him in 1891 or 1901  ??? Wonder if Phoebe remarried and he is under step-dad's name?

When did he marry, Gracelands?
