I loved Griff's programme, too, because they showed Vineyard St, which was at the back of the tenements my mum lived in. I also liked Paxman, and Stephen Fry, and Sheila Hancock, and the man who found out his ancestors were Indian, but didn't know. I do think they should include Scottish, Welsh and Irish ancestors in the series though - there are an awful lot of us about!

I agree - that's why I was careful to say Britain not England.

I think we've had a few of each nation, haven't we? I remember looking forward to David Tennant's episode because I was hoping for more about Scottish research - and he spent most of his time in N Ireland! And then Ken Stott went off to Italy!! Have we had a 'true' Scottish episode?

YOu're right Jill, I've been a bit disappointed in the past too. Maybe this very English looking lot will find one or two Welsh, Scottish or Irish ancestors! I wouldn't like to see all the overseas episodes stopped though. A diet of nothing but ag labs and domestic servants might turn off the general public.

Recent series seem to have been just the opposite though - too much tootling off abroad and not enough ag labs!! Justice for the ag labs!!!  ;D ::)

I went mad and ordered 6 certs exactly 10 days ago - and was overwhelmed when the first one arrived only 3 days later (2 days ahead of time). 4 others came the next day, but I'm still waiting for the last one - beginning to wonder if it's got lost.

I'd really like to see an episode with ag labs and see them try and push as far back in time as possible - getting beyond the obvious census/GRO/ easy PRs stuff.

Too many subject's histories, even when set in the UK, don't seem to go back much before the censuses. Let's have a few manorial documents/ poll books/tax records for a change.
