Can I have a star please? I've actually heard of them all!!  ;D

Although, sometimes the best programmes are about the ones you didn't know - e.g. Jodie Kidd last year.

I like to know where they're born, so did a bit of googling:

Martin Freeman - Aldershot, Hampshire
Kim Cattrall - Widnes near Liverpool (moved to Canada at age 3 months)
Chris Moyles - Leeds, Yorkshire
Davina McCall - London
David Mitchell - Salisbury, Wiltshire
Kate Humble - Wimbledon near London.

I don't like Chris Moyles but at least it might mean a bit of Yorkshire research. Can't be doing with Davina either but the programme might be okay.

I shall look forward to them all.  ;D

I think Davina's mother is french? so that could be the international one, or as usual one of many!

No! Tell yourself that you're being selective with your viewing - that's what I do!!  ;D

Is it really the 7th series? It was the first series that sparked me off to start my family history - so have I really been doing it for 6 years? Funny, I knew absolutely nothing when I started - not even my maternal grandmothers' maiden names - but I thought I'd only be at it for a couple of weeks!! Little did I know! Bug...bitten....... ;D ;)

Love Kate Humble on Spring Watch and Autumn Watch but she does overuse the words 'gorgeous' and 'absolutely' - so presumably this WDYTYA episode of her story will be *Absolutely gorgeous*.

Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) has been spending a lot of time in 'the old country' lately, maybe it was filming for this series that kept her here.

I thought Davina's mother was French too - although I think there are complications with mother/step mother (seem to recall real mother disappeared years ago, so maybe the French connection is the step mum).

Regarding the filming, they appear to be filmed at various times and then the BBC seem to assemble a collection for showing - as though they are actually filming these programmes constantly and then shuffling them around as to which ones are shown first?

However, looking forward to seeing them again as they make a nice change from 'talent shows'  ::)

And the problem with them is that as we started them (thank you Simon Cowell), all the other TV companies around the world have taken up a franchise so we now get all the other versions on lesser TV channels too - but that's another subject . . . . . . .

On the red button after "Springwatch" someone on the message boards said they play a drinking game  - one drink every time Kate and the others say these overused words. Must be a lot of inebriated people out there!  ;D

According to Wikipedia its her mother that is\was French not her step mother.
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Chris Moyles family are Irish, so I think he did quite a bit of research there.
