Although WDYTYA is all about tracing those in the public eye, and some of them have exotic backgrounds, I think it's amazing how ordinary most of them appear, especially when they go to visit their parents who live normal lives in a bungalow in an anonymous town.

Many of them have had normal/ordinary/humble upbringings and are not the 'gossip mag type' of celebrity.

I'm happy to see anyone on WDYTYA.  ;D

I agree Ruskie. It's actually interesting to see that many of 'celebrities' have backgrounds just like our own, and that some 'very English' celebs turn out to have foreign ancestors. Anyway, I'm so old I haven't heard of the majority of them, and at the end of the programme I'm left wracking my brains trying to remember what they are famous for!

It is interesting that Kim Cattrall is doing it as her Sex in the City colleague Sarah Jessica Parker is appearing in the US version of the show. I wonder if one of them did it because the other one did?

Also does anyone know if the US version has aired yet, as I think it was supposed to start back in April?

looks like we will also soon be able to watch the US version :)

WDYTYA? USA
Hollywood stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon will discover their family history for the American version of Who Do You Think You Are?, due to begin in late May 2009.

Former Friends star Lisa Kudrow, who is executive producer of the series, will also unearth her roots in one of the six episodes to be screened on American channel NBC.

Kudrow says: 'The show personalises history and turns it into a gripping narrative. The most amazing thing is the realisation of how connected we all are.'

The BBC plans to broadcast the series here later in the year

Has anyone got a copy of the magazine "who do you think you are" for this month. I saw inside the back cover they have the group of guest for the next series.
I looked quickly at it and can only remember the following.
Can anyone else give me the names of the others in that picture.
Thanks
Vicky

Kim Cottrill, Kate Humble and Chris Moyles - I think it was. Who are the others?

Cheers

Hiya Vicky, have a look in the 'Lighter Side', there is a topic in there devoted to the new series.
