Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much!! I have turned on my laptop to be greeted by a cornucopia of information. I am like a kid in a sweetshop, not knowing where to start. I need to get the information on my system so that I can start to see the wood for the trees. This family is a real mystery, as originally, I thought they had possibly emigrated to Canada. Now I find it is Australia. Also why were the wife and 2 children going to South Africa, without the husband, but he must have turned up there sometime, as 2 of her children were born there.

Why did the husband join the military in Australia when he could have stayed with his family in England and join up there. Still a lot to discover! How can I find out whether any of the marriages, produced children? I would like to know if the name 'Leigh' has continued.

Thanks again for your considerable help.

When  you  read his WW1 record you  will  note  that  he served time in  the Military in South Africa!!!

The funeral was at Northern Suburbs crematorium, 4 Jan, Funeral Director: Russelll Kinsela Pty Ltd.

Thank you very much for that information. There is clearly a lot of relatives in Australia, which I was completely unaware of until a few days ago. Thank you for helping me discover them.

After 14 days notice of publication of this notice an application for Probate of  the will of Frederick William Leigh BOHM late of North Avalon Green keeper deceased will be made by Ivy Ethel BOHM and Frederick Leonard BOHM executers named in the said will.  Creditors are required to send their particulars of  their claims to  William Paterson, Solicitors 


In the will of Charles Godfrey Leigh Bohm of Karool Avenue, Earlwood retired wood machinist deceased,  probate to Raymond Charles Leigh Bohm executer  claims etc to solicitor.

Frederick William Leahy Bohm was my grandfather, married to Ivy Ethel Sycamore.  You have all done amazing research, some of it new to me.  I may have information you need, let me know and I will try to help.
