Wow - many thanks for all the replies. I have received the death certificate of Frederick Noah Bailey who died in Southland, New Zealand on 18th August 1903, he was aged 48 at time of death, he was an upholster.
He was born in Trowbridge, his father was Isaac, a restaurant keeper, no mother given.
He emigrated to New Zealand on the Western Monarch, listed as just Noah Bailey, arriving in January 1878. He married Margaret Blee from Cornwall who also arrived on the same ship.
They had many children and amongst the name of their children were Isaac, Harriett Helen, Eli, Frank (Harriett Knowles who married Isaac had a brother named Frank)
He appeared to have emigrated alone as Noah Bailey, and I wonder if he added the Frederick after he arrived here for some reason.
With information given in dates, places and names, and with all your collected wisdom, does it appear very likely that Noah Bailey, son of Isaac of Trowbridge is the same Frederick Noah Bailey I have here on this death certificate - I really look forward to a reply on this.
