Thank, Michael for clarifying that. That's an interesting addition to our knowlege, but I suppose there were mistakes or rounding downs done by some enumerators anyway.
I did put 'if we are to trust the 1841 ages'.
I still don't feel entirely sure.
There is no link anywhere to a Watson family.
On all the census entries which I know are right, her full name of mary Ann  is given.

Hi Otters,
Mary Jane and her sister Isabella both moved after they were married - to North Yorkshire, But over 100 miles from Hull, and no longer called Boag.
I'll bear your Sarah in mind when I'm researching the Boag family, but I can't connect at the moment.
Meanwhile, best of luck.
Liz

Just to throw in an alternative spelling that cropped up for my small Boag branch in 1841, (North Shields area around 1830 onwards).

Have you tried Beag?

Boag, Boage, Bogue, also seen spellings like Bog, Boch, Beag, Borg, Borgenson, etc drives me mad!

Good luck

Thanks, Lorraine
You have certainly found more variations than I have!

Best of luck to you, too.
