Wallace/Wallis - parents of Frederick - b.1850 in Malton

I'm trying to find out more about the parents of Ferderick Wallice b. 5 Feb 1850 in Malton. His mother was Sarah Wallace. She died later that year on 14 August 1850 and he was brought up by another family. I can't find any details regarding the mother's birth nor any details on his father. Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Have you got his birth certificate ?

That will give you his father's name, and mother's maiden name

There is an extracted baptism for him on the IGI;  no father shown, so probably illegitimate
