Wood family Doncaster
« on: Thursday 02 July 09 22:42 BST (UK) »
Can anyone lookup the information BDM for a Thomas Philemon Wood of Doncaster - he was a tailor, his wife's name was Mary.  They had at least two sons Thomas Howson b 1808 and John b 1801 and both were christened in the Cathedral of St Peter in Sheffield.  Both boys were later sent to Australia as convicts in 1832.

We think the family came from Doncaster or surrounds but are not  absolutely certain.  A marriage date would have been very late 1700's.  Both boys were shown as being Baker confectioners and John was married with three children by 1832 whereas Thomas was still single.

Any information on the family in Yorkshire would really be appreciated.

Many Thanks in anticipation,

Joan Marie

Not sure either although the name Philemon is unusual.  I need more on the later family however.

Thanks Joan.
