Percy Rawson
« on: Saturday 26 February 05 05:46 GMT (UK) »
I found my descendants Arthur Rawson and his family migrated to Australia June 1882 aboard Camorta. I'm trying to find his son Percy death record doesn't shown in Victoria.  Is there any help finding Percy (2yo in 1882) death possibly in Queensland between 1882-1887. Thanks

Hi rawry45

Checked the Queensland Pioneer Index for you.  No Percy Rawson dying in QLD.

Are you sure Percy died as a child?  Annie was born in QLD in August 1882, Sydney, Ada & Stanley were born in Victoria between 1884 and 1889.  Lillie died in Vic 1887.

Do you have any of the birth certificates?  They will indicate the status of Percy.

The Qld index says the mother is Annie Harrison but the Vic ones have Annie Oldham.

Are there two different Annies?  What information have you got?

Cheers
Genni

thank you for the details.
Annie's mother actually Ann Oldham cos she was pregnant aboard the ship with her family arrived Australia June 1882 (she born Aug 1882). According to QLD immigration record, there's no Ann Harrison aboard same ship.
I believe it was the typist error with other Harrison mixed up.
It was same father Arthur W Rawson.
Your information are accurate same as mine info.
There's no record of Percy's death in Victoria, its like partially brickwall!
What I'm thinking if possible died on the ship or somewhere along QLD/NSW on the way to Victoria 1882-1884? Could you please check that out for me? Thanks

Cheers

Finally at last, found him enlisted in Imperial force served in Boer War 1899-1902.
I searched everywhere until the brickwall finally came crashing down! I never thought about enlisted. Thanks for your helps Genni.

Happy  to hear you found him.

I had a feeling he didn't die as a child.

Found at last I was brickwalled returned home after Boer War. Percy moved to New Zealand married in 1903, died 1917in Wellington, Zealand. I visited his parents grave in Melbourne today, found his name written on it as monumental grave alongside his siblings. Next their child/children oh boy another tough task for me.
Cheers
