On the NZSG marriage index CD
David BRUCE 1874 married ISABELLA CARNEGIE
also on BMD site
1874/8272 Isabella  Carnegie  David  Bruce

Is this the time period you were after?
Bye
Althea  :)

Hi  thanks for taking the time to anwer my posting.  The Carnegie's I'm looking for were born in Brechin Scotland to David and Janet Carnegie (Janet Keays Langlands Carnegie)  William Langlands Carnegie was born in 1883 and moved from Scotland to Australia.
Jesse (Janet Elizabeth Carnegie) I don't have a birtdate for.  But she married a David Bruce (her 1st cousin) and had 3 children that we know of ; Douglas Bruce,     Heather Bruce (M) McNeil, and Neil who died young .
Robert John Carnegie (b)  1901 married and divorced was said to be a newspaper reporter in Hawks Bay NZ.
If you have any information about these Carnegie / Bruce ,  I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks   Elaine
PS:  I think somewhere along the lines someone had something to do with race horses (?)

Hi Elaine

Hmmm ... this is all just a little bit confusing ?    ;)

Your initial request was for the family of "John CARNEGIE".

Can you please clarify if he is the same person as the "Robert John CARNEGIE" you mention, later ?

If the " Janet Elizabeth CARNEGIE married James Alexander BRUCE 1918" (as given by Althea) is the correct person, then I have some further information for you.

Hi cdnscots

You may have the answer to your questions by now as I note that your postings were made on the 30th June 2009. However I thought my contact with you could be useful.

I am the grand daughter of Janet Elizabeth Carnegie and James Aleander Bruce married 1918/2848.

My grand father was the (James Aleaxnder)son of Isabella Carnegie and David Bruce 1874/8272

I can give you information on the Bruce / Carnegie family

It would be great to have the links back to the family in Scotland.

Look forward to a response
