Looking for surname KEMPSTER
« on: Tuesday 30 June 09 12:45 BST (UK) »
Hi All,
I am researching the surname KEMPSTER and I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that is also researching this name. All I know is that my Kempster according to his one of his childrens birth registration in Australia was born in Hertfordshire, England and on another he is listed as born in London, England. I really dont know much more than this. I have a name Robert George Kempster, (this is his name on the 2 birth registrations) but I have also seen him listed as George Robert Kempster. My Great Grandfather is a real mystery to me.

Yes, that certainly is him. Is there anything that you know about him as he is a hard man to track down. Robert is my G grandfather.

I have some Kempsons who lived in the Totternhoe area, which is in Bedfordshire but close to the border with both Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.  Whilst the name was generally Kempson, one of them, (James Kempson 1847-1915) occasionally called himself James Kempster.
