Sorry JJ for not replying sooner, I have'nt had the time lately to research.  You have added some new & most helpful links which I will pass on as I am getting confused myself  ;D  I was trying to help my sisters in laws but have'nt enough details to know for sure. 
She has been reading the posts & is giving info to her mother in law, fingers crossed & a hugh thank you for all of your time & research, it is very much appreciated.  I will get back to you asap to let you know if this is them.

I am a direct Decendant of the McHugh family you are looking for. Myself ,and a Cousin of mine have been searching for relatives for some time. He happened apon this post,and forwarded it to me. There a alot of living relatives still in Canada,and it would be great to get in touch with you to try to piece some of this together. I am not sure if you will see this,but I hope that you do. I have all the origianl documentation and a full history starting with John and Mary's Son Thomas John McHugh. You might be pleased to know that there are still relatives living in the general area of the original peel/trafalgar county McHugh homestead.
