Does anyone have any thing on the Quinns of Otago?

Elvira married a James Ross in Sydney, and died in Penrith NSW in abt 1935.

Hi

Is it "Elvina"  ... or "Elvira"  ??   (Different names in subject heading and thread).   :D

Mmm  ... can't see her at all under QUINN on the NZ (online) birth index.

Do you perhaps have a marriage / death cert. for her which gives this link to "Oamaru" ?

Hi

I see now the marriage record (NSW) states her name as "ELVINA".    ;)

I note you say she died about 1935   ... and that death index listing (Elvina ROSS) gives her parents names as "James and Frances".  ???

Hello there,

Just read your post on wanting to know more about Elvena Quinn.  I understand that your post was some years ago, so not sure whether this post will reach you.  If it does then this is my information on Elvena Quinn.

Elvena was my great grand mother, her daughter Violet Elvena Ross was my grand mother.  Violet was born in Sydney, and moved to Christchurch New Zealand to apparently become a dancer.  She married William Irving at St Pauls Cathedral in Chch, then moved to Wellington.  They had 4 children one being my dad.

Are you able to tell me your attachment with Elvena Ross.

Regards

Connie Irving ;D
