Lost Grannie - found "COMPLETED thanks karenlee"
« on: Sunday 28 June 09 02:48 BST (UK) »
I am having trouble finding my maternal grandmother.  Sarah Jane Spokes b. 1894, married Jonas Busby 1918.  Jonas died about 1946.  Sarah remarried to Shuttleworth, when that marriage ended she went to Canada in 1957 for about 2 years.  Because of her age, I assume she is dead but can find no information after she married Jonas Busby.  Help please!

Hi Sue

Where abouts was Sarah when she married either Jonas or Mr Shuttleworth??  Are you searching UK, USA or the Pacific region... ie Australian and NZ??

Cheers

Sorry, I guess that is kind of important.  I'm talking the UK.  Sarah was born in Tamworth and married Busby in Warwickshire.  As to Shuttleworth, I assume in the same area of England.  When Sarah returned to England she never got in touch with her Canadian family again.

Hi Sue

A quick check of the UK incoming Passenger lists shows a Sarah J Shuttleworth coming into Southampton aboard the "Sylvania" on 5th August 1960.  Date of birth is given as 13th June 1894, travelling from Quebec Canada.  This could well be your Sarah.  If you would like to see the page I would be happy to email it to you.. please get in touch via PM with details.

Cheers
