Hi Mike!  How are you doing?  I see you are still at it! I retired last year and have not had as much time to research as I had in the past.  Was just wondering if any of the Gander researchers out there have made any connection to the French, German and Swiss Ganders. I would have though with all this DNA stuff we would have made some connections by now.  I haven't checked Des site lately but he did have a section re DNA but when I checked with him last year he hadn't had much response.  It would also be interesting to find out if any of the Gander lines in England are related in any way. Maybe we can get some discussion going.  Might have to repost this query to the appropriate sectrion but just wanted to say Hi!

Hi claddaghgirl,

I have found no connection between the English Ganders and the Franch, German, Swiss. As I understand, the English version originated in England. Most of the Ganders in the US are of the Swiss/German variety.

I have been laying low for quite a while but do check back from time to time.
