1901 census help where do I look
« on: Friday 26 June 09 20:16 BST (UK) »
I have found my great grandfather and his family on the 1911 Census ( thanks to this site) Living in  house no. 16 in Drumaville.  Any ideas how I find out where that is/was in Drumaville.  I have looked but cannot find Henry P McLaughlin his wife Cassie, his mother Mary who would be about 82 and their children on the previous census .  I am not sure if they would come under Moville Higher or lower but could not find them there I am not sure how the areas were broken up for the census.  Any suggestions please.

Thanks for all the help so far,  I am hoping to go to Drumaville in August so I can see for myself where all this history started.

drumaville is in culdaff, as far as I'm aware the 1901 census is in letterkenny library, but please check it out.

                                          regards mary.

Drumaville is in Clonca Parish - see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bhilchey/DonegalMain.html
for maps and an explanation of townlands, parishes.

You will also find the 1901 census in Carndonagh library which also has some church records.
