I'd be tempted to look at two of the Arthur's in the 1911 Census. Arthur aged 29 could well be this one. Arthur aged 9 might be Thomas's son

I eliminated him as he was a Railway Carter in 1901 - I've gone with the 'Farmer' occupation suggested by you. Farming often run in families.

Hi I'm looking for someone my father knew as 'Uncle Arthur' Robinson. He lived in Leek, Staffordshire. My father knew him sometime around 1945. His wife's name was Sally. He was a farmer.
I'm trying to work out how he fitted in with our family. My G G Grandfather's name was Thomas Robinson, b. 1843, in Leek.

Any help would be wonderful 

(BTW I'm in Australia and my father migrated here in 1955)

Can't find a 'Sally' for him but there is a marriage to Sarah Holdcroft - not sure if Sally is a pet name for Sarah.

(12 hrs later..) big family debate going on, phonecalls to grandma etc!! 

Grandma (95 y/o) thinks that His wife's name was Sally and they had no kids. Aunt Sally had a sister, Hilda. And there was an Aunt Hannah but we don't know how she fits in!
