I try not to order Qld certificates if I can help it.
I just keep my fingers crossed that the deceased has left a will and I can then view the included d/c at the archives and take a copy of it if I wish, for a dollar or two. I can also view d/c's of recently deceased strangers.

However I had to have all manner of proof of relationship to purchase my grandparent's marriage certificate despite the fact that we have a rare surname and it was a few months away from open access.
