Daniel BLICK
« on: Friday 26 June 09 10:26 BST (UK) »
Hello,

My gggg grandmother's brother, Daniel Blick, was baptised at Fingest on 19 December 1802, the son of Zachariah and Mary Blike (sic), nee Davis. But I don't know what to do regarding his death: a Daniel Blick was buried at Fingest on September 23, 1810, three days after a Robert Blick. Robert Blick was my gggggg grandfather. But there is a marriage on 05 May 1827 at West Wycombe between a Daniel Blick and a Rebecca Plumridge. I have traced them through the censuses and he said he was born at Great Marlow in 1803 - which fits as the Blicks did live at Great Marlow according to the Fingest Parish Registers. Daniel Blick died in Aylesbury Registration district in Sept qtr 1864. Rebecca died in Wycombe in 1867, aged 63 years.

Without buying a certificate, is there any way of finding out which Daniel is my Daniel?

Matt

Hello Matt

Can't say whether or not he is yours but I can say that the Daniel BLICK whose death is registered in Aylesbury Registration District Sep Qtr 1864 died on 14 July 1864 at the County Lunatic Asylum, Stone, near Aylesbury.  He was admitted to the Asylum on 11 December 1861 and belonged to the Wycombe Union.  This information comes from a List of Male Patients giving dates of admission and discharge or death 1853-1902 (Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies Ref: H1/6/1).

The Archives at the Centre have many records relating the the Asylum and you should be able to find more information about this Daniel from them.  Please be aware that some of the records are subject to a closure period owing to their sensitive nature but Daniel's records should be available.

Hi Matt94

I just saw this old post that you left re: the Blick Family. I am thinking we must be related as I am also descendant from Zacariah Blick through his son William. Unfortunately I don't have much information on Zacariah or his wife Mary Davis. I was wondering if you had any more information on this family. It has been causing me no end of grief  :)

thanks

hello erinb1983,

How are you related through William? I am related through Hannah Blick 1818-1873 who married Joseph Atkins in 1839. Their daughter Sarah Ann born 1840 married Reuben Cutler, my ggg grandfather.

I have mostly Parish Register info on the Blicks but I haven't done much. I will Personal Message you with me e-mail address if you would like to talk more

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt

Well apparently I am related through William's daughter Susan who married Thomas Plumridge. Their daughter Sarah married my ggg grandfather Samuel Craft. It would great if you could send me your e-mail as any information you have would be helpful to me. It's difficult for me to get information from parish registers etc as I am from Australia.

Thanks
Erin

Hi

I am also related to the Blicks. Daniel Blick was a witness at his sister Elizabeth's wedding in 1826 to James Coleman in Great Marlow. James and Elizabeth are my Gr Gr Gr Gr grandparents.

I'm also related to the Blicks through Hannah, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Coleman.  Hannah married William Bates and their daughter, Eliza, married Daniel Lovell who was my great grandfather.  Their daughter, Rosa, migrated to Australia in 1911.
Being so far away, I also do not have access to parish records and most of my information has been obtained from online census reports.

Terri

Hi Ann,
I was having problems on how to reply to your last message so am trying this way. My grandmother, Rosa Ellen, great granddaughter of James Coleman arrived in Australia in 1911. Not sure why she migrated, perhaps it was for a better life.  She never ever spoke of her family in UK.  She met her husband, Joseph Triulzi, a fellow Englishman of Italian ancestry, on board ship.  He was an engineer at the Chullora railway yards in Sydney most of his working life.  They lived around the Kogarah/Rockdale/Hurstville area in Sydney.  There were five children of the marriage only my mother and one of her brothers married.  My mother married an Irishman.
I have access to Ancestry and FindMyPast so if I can be of any assistance give me a yell.  I am living on the Fraser Coast in Queensland.
Regards
Terri

[Hi Ann,
