Hi Lee,

Not sure if it helps, saw the 1841 census, had a quick look on 1851 and found a Llewellyn Morgan, head married, 54 ironminer, born Ystradfellte, and a Margaret Morgan, wife, 53 born Carmarthern, Llanfairarybryn.  Not sure if it's yours, the children weren't there.  Do you have any more info to help with a search?

Regards

Hi thanks for your reply. The only other bit of info i have is in the 1861 census.Margaret Llewelin's wife is still in the area,Widowed on her own.But living next to her son Walter and family.Thats if it is my Margaret? Not sure but there might be another Margaret and Llewelin living in that area,Unless Llewelin changed the spelling of his name to Llewellyn. Many thanks Lee.

Hi,

Don't know if it's the same but I also found I think the same, 1861 Margaret Morgan, married 50
abt. 1811 living alone knittingwoman Llywen Brecknwock Breconshire? Not sure about that one.

1871
Looks like Llewellin may have married again?
Glynperfedd, Penderyn Aberdare, Merthyr Tyddfil
Llewellin Morgan, mar 72, farmer 80 acres born Ystradfeflda
Gwenllian Morgan, wife 68 Penderyn
Mary Jones dau, widow, 28 general servant domestic penderyn
Margaret Jones, dau, single,25                  "                     "
Jane Jones, granddaughter, 9                                          "
John Jones, grandson, 6                                                   "

May be yours, not sure?

Just realised, the ages may not be right, but then the 1841 isn't exact what with
rounding up and down.  Will recheck for you.

Hi

I have just come across your query about Glynperfedd and the "Morgan" family.

Assuming I've got it right, this was one of the most awkward bits of patronymic/surname mixing I've come across.

E-mail me directly on * and I'll see if I can help you out if you haven't yet got there yourself.

best wishes

Stephanie
