Hughes & Parry in Llangollen

Thought I'd post my interests as I had a bit of a break through last night.

I always thought Robert Hughes (bn 1796 St Martins Salop) and Mary Parry (bn 1806 Llangollen) who lived at Croggen Iddan near Pontfadog (1841 & 1851 census) died before 1861. 

BUT last night I found Robert living in Cysyllte in 1871 living with him is his brother in law Jonathan Parry (bn ~1803) I think Mary has died by this time but it says Robert is married though there is a correction as one of his daughters is listed then crossed out as his wife!

Does anyone recognise the Parrys?

Can anyone help with were a chap from Cysyllte could be buried?  Where is the nearest cemetery?

I also have an Ann Parry born in Llangollen in c 1797.As far as where someone in Froncysyllte may have been buried,he may have buried at the Churchyard of St Davids in Froncysyllte.He could also have been buried at St John's Rhosymedre,which is only about two mile away.Another possibility is the Churchyard of St Collen in Llangollen,which is three miles away.

From the Llangollen parish records...
Nov 29th 1823 Robert Hughes, otp, ba, and Mary Parry, otp, sp – banns – both made their mark. Witnesses:  Charles Thomas (x) and Edward Hughes (parish clerk).

Apple also (amongst many gems) found a very good fit to Jonathan in the Lllangollen records...

April 13 1803 Jonathan Parry, child of John and Margaret Parry, labourer, Crogen Iddon.

So this develops my Parry's further.

I think the problem you have is the same as a lot of us whose ancestors were from these border areas have - we have to look in so many parishes Your's, for example, were registered in St Martin's (Bronygarth area), Llangollen (Crogen Iddon,Froncysyllte, Bache, Pontfadog) and Glynceiriog. I recall you saying that one of the sons was born Selattyn; yet another parish

I've had a good look for William's Anne over the last year or so but never found a good match

I'll keep my eye out for more of yours while looking for my stragglers

Unfortunately I don't know.

I've lost the family in 1861 there is a possible Robert of a near age but the place of birth I seem to remember (I haven't got the detail and I'm not subscribed to Ancestry at the mo) was "North Wales".

So they are effectively missing for 20 years (1851 to 1871) Crogen then Fron.

They have ceased having children at that point.  The unmarried children of Robert and Mary are elusive in 1861 as well.  Robert is actually listed as married but I think this is wrong the error with his daughters relationship hints to this.

I think that you were probably unlucky with the 1861  Lots of that census went missing/destroyed because of transfer from Home Office to Registrar General - civil servants being a bit jealous of their property or something and it not being stored properly

Something must have caused them to move to Fron (as locals call it) from Gelly - wonder what?

I'll have a look around my death/burial stuff.

Despite "previous criticisms which I have made" I think I have found your Jonathan Parry in 1851,living in Crogen Iddon with his Wife Margaret listed as born in Denbighshire in c 1817,and sons Edward listed as born in Denbighshire in c 1839,and John listed as born in Denbighshire in c 1841.
