HATSWELL Tiverton PRs 1779+
« on: Saturday 20 June 09 12:45 BST (UK) »
This is our Elizabeth marrying in Tiverton, and we know the couple had a son named James:
11 March 1800 Elizabeth HATSWELL m. Thomas CHAINEY of the Berkshire Militia

IGI baptisms for Tiverton show:
12 August 1779 William s/o James & Mary HATSWELL
12 August 1779 Elizabeth d/o James & Mary
12 April 1782 Nancy d/o James & Mary
28 May 1787 Mary d/o James & Mary
1 December 1790 James s/o James & Mary
14 November 1792 Ann d/o James & Mary
13 November 1795 John s/o James & Mary

Would anyone be able to look up Elizabeth's (and William's) 1779 baptism to see if there is any additional information? Also (if it's easy) would it be possible to check if this Elizabeth died young, and thus we are barking up the wrong tree?

Thank you!

On the 1841 census there is a Thomas & Elizabeth Cheney aged 70 & 65 living at  Goodrest Lodge, Shinfield , Wokingham Berkshire.

Also listed is a 3 year old James (Grandson?)

Could these be yours?

PS I am Descended from Ann Hatswell 1790 - 1835 who lived in Ottery St Mary and married William Bastin. Any connection?

This was posted a long time ago, but if you message me, I believe the Elizabeth Hatswell you are referring to was the daughter of Thomas Hatswell & Mary Venner - she was one of 8. I have the names of the others too, as one of them (Thomas) is one of my ancestors.

As for the second post, I'd be interested to hear about Ann Hatswell, and any other info, as it might fit in with some of the other information I have - it is not a common name!

Hi Boyband, Welcome to RootsChat.

I am sorry but Firefox is no longer contactable as it looks like they have changed their email address but sadly we do not know what the new address is. When people are not contactable we leave a little note underneath the profile name.

Joanne's is still good and has been notified of your reply.

Regards

Sarah :)

Hi Boyband,
Ann Hatswell (30/4/1790 - 3/7/1835) is my GGGG Grandmother.
She is the daughter of Simon Hatswell & Ann Knight.
She married William Bastin (1788 - 1856) in Ottery St Mary on 7/10/1810

I have more info on my family tree - let me know what your connection/interest is.
