Hello -- do you know where in Meath your Gibney's were from?  I have a Thomas Gibney who left Ireland ~1848 for USA -- his naturalization papers state he is from "Eastmeath" -- I have been told that it would refer to townlands in the eastern most parts of Meath but that still is not much to go on -- he married Margaret McCann and I believe they had family ties somewhere in Meath. Thanks -- Patrick M. McCann

Searching for ties to Thomas Gibney in Meath 1840's -- arrived in USA ~1846 -- thought to have ties to John McCann also from Meath (Eastmeath) who arrived in USA in 1847.
