The only one I can find at the moment is this entry on freebmd

Births March qtr 1879

Richard Henry  Alderwick  Holbeck  9b 375

Marriages March qtr 1901

Richard Henry Alderwick  Holbeck  9b 373 to either Mary Hudson or Appolina Clark

No trace on the WWI service records so his record was presumably destroyed during the WW2 blitz

Many thanks everyone for all your replies, it was worth a try.

Richard Alderwick married Mary Hudson, my next task to find out if they had any children in the short time they were together.

Regards to all

Richard had a 3/ prefix to his service number so he more than likely was a pre war regular who was in the National Reserves...There is a possibility that he may have a record at Kew in the pre 1913 records.
These records arent online yet...i think Find My Past are doing it over next couple of years. You would have to visit Kew or get a researcher to look it up.

Theres a Thomas Alderwicks record online born New Wortley lived Burley..mum Sarah if he was somehow related to Richard?

Hi

my next task to find out if they had any children in the short time they were together.

They were married for 15yrs so the 1911 census would be your best bet for any children prior to 1911

There is a Mary Elizabeth Alderwick aged 3 showing on the free 1911 index and she was living in Holbeck

There is nothing on freebmd between 1911-1915 for Alderwick with mothers maiden name Hudson

Not sure if she'd be a daughter - she wasn't with Richard or Mary on the night of the census.

Also I can't find Richard and Mary living together in 1911 which makes me think maybe he was away doing army things? (What I don't know)  ;)

oh and by 1891 he had a younger brother, William b. 1885. I think he may be the father of Mary Elizabeth but you'd need credits to make sure!

Do you know of any of his descendants that may have info on Richard for you?
