May be of interest, on the Tithe Defaulters List for the parish of Kilnenor I have the following Kavanagh’s

Bryan Kavanagh   Palace
Darby Kavanagh   Palace
John Kavanagh   Palace
Peter Kavanagh   Palace
Widow Kavanagh   Tomcoyle
James Kavanagh   Tomcoyle
Arthur Kavanagh    Ballyconbare
Patrick Kavanagh   Rathpierce
Andrew Kavanagh   Rathpierce
Andrew Jr KavanaghRathpierce

The Rathpierce Kavanagh’s which is neighbouring Ballyfad are my ancestors. Patrick is my Great Great Grand Father born 1786 and died 05 May 1864 in Ballyshaun (Ballyshane). It is my guess Andrew is his brother but have no documented proof yet.

What is interesting is the naming pattern of my family and those posted by a previous poster.

thepip:

Andrews father was James Kavanagh
Children:

Catherine 1868 - "                   "

Hello John - thanks for all that information.   Perhaps these are the previous generation ?  Andrew Kavanagh moved with his wife Alice Green to Widnes in
1868/9 and died aged 48 in Widnes 1891.  Alice moved to Accrington and died
in 1913 - have death certs for both.

Hi Maria
I have just come across two references for Simon Greene and Simon CREANE, both of Knockgreany.  Simon was a United Irishman and a soldier with Anthony Perry.  I think his father was Michael Greene/CREANE who had the livery stable in Coolgreany for coach travellers on their way to wexford in 1770!
Try looking for CREANE as well!

All the best

I have read with great interest the posts mentioning Andrew Kavanagh.  My GGGrandfather was named Andrew Kavanagh.  All I know about him is that he was married to Mary Brien.  They had at least 2 children, James and Jane.  James was born in 1832 and married Mary Boulger in Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare.  James died in Gorey, Co. Wexford in 1889.  I also believe that my GGGrandfather, Andrew,  moved from Co. Kildare to Co. Wexford.  Any suggestions on how and where to try to find more information about Andrew would be deeply appreciated as I am at a brickwall.
