Hello Jenny. Sorry Jenny. No gravestones for the Christian names that you mentioned.
When I saw this posting I thought there may be quite a few for Carter but there are only 6 in my full list.
1 for Wolsingham, 1 for Etherley, 2 for Lynesack, 1 for Willington.
Here is the only one for St Helen, West Auckland.
I am afraid this one is in a bad condition.

In memory of George Carter, late of Beck ???, departed this life 30/June/1809.
The rest of this stone is totally obliterated.

Many thanks for looking Adam. I really didn't have high hopes of them having a M.I.

Your efforts are really appreciated.

Cheers

Hello everyone. I have a gravestone inscription for Lowson at St Helen at West Auckland.
Should I send it by P.M ?
Of course not. I post all my inscriptions on the correct thread and then everyone sees them. I thought that was the idea of the whole thing.
Anyway here it is :-

Sacred to the memory of William Lowson of Pit Green, who died the 2nd day of August 1823 aged 86 years.
Also Ann, relict of the above named William Lowson, who departed this life on the 10th of January 1831 aged 88 years.
And of William Lowson, son of the above named William and Ann Lowson, who departed this life May 14th 1837 aged 57 years.
Also of Richard Lowson, who departed this life on the 30th day of March 1856 aged 83 years.
Also of his wife Margaret Lowson, who departed this life on the 4th day of March 1868? aged 94 years.
Modify :-
Whoops. There you are!!!! I broke my own rule because I should have posted it on the West Auckland thread , it could have then been seen in the correct place.

Hello Kay. And just the one for Eden:-

Here lie William Eden, 7th Baronet of West Auckland and 5th Baronet of Maryland, USA. Born 5th April 1849, died February/20/1945.
And of Sybil Frances Eden, his wife, born 9th April 1867, died 17th June 1945.

And yet more thanks, Adam.

This one is more puzzling though as was hoping there would be "earlier" Edens. Need to do a bit more research!

Thanks again for your very quick response.

Adam, why should you have posted the Lowson one in West Auckland MI, it is set in the Wall of the St Helen's Church, so you have it in the right  place.

JR
Lowson, Hodgson, Dent, Townson, Simpson, Brown, Bruce, and many more.

Hello Roger. But that was posted back in June.
I think I was making a point at the time but it is now history.
