Hello. Here are your Bell and Dodds gravestone inscriptions.The surname Maughan is "Maugham on the list."

In memory of Sarah Atkinson, late of West Auckland who died March/16/1830 aged 30 years.
Also Jane Atkinson, daughter of the above, died April/1/1833 ages 9 years.
Also Thomas Atkinson, husband of the above died January/25/1855 aged 70 years.
Also Robert Bell, of West Auckland who died September/15/1877 aged 55 years.
Also lancelot, son of the above named Robert and Frances Bell, who died August/29/1852 aged 4 years.

In memory of Elizabeth Ann, the beloved daughter of Metcalfe and Ann Bell of Gordon who died March/20/1868 aged 15 years.

To the memory of John Moses, late of West Auckland who departed this life May/24/1799 aged 57 years.
Also of John, son of the above named John who departed this life June/15/1815 aged 32 years.
Also of Elizabeth Moses, wife of the first above  named John Moses and mother of the second who departed this life December/20/1832 aged 83 years.
Also Anthony Dodds, son in law to the above who died December/9/1819 aged 73? years.

To the memory of John Dodds, late of West Auckland who died July/14?/1855 (could be 1833) aged 18 years. (poor stone to read)
Also Anthony Dodds, brother of the above who died January/9/1854 aged 40 years.
Also Susan Dodds, wife of the above John Dodds, who died October/10/1861 aged 69 years.

In memory of Sarah the beloved wife of Charles Dodds of Bishop Auckland who died November/30/1872 aged 20 years.
In memory of Matilda the beloved wife of William Burton, who died January/29/1882 aged 68 ? years. ( this was a stone with inscriptions on two sides)

Hello Ian. Here is the Maugham inscription:-

Sacred to the memory of Francis Maugham, Tailor of West Auckland who died February/23/1846 aged 63 years.
Also to Mary, wife of the above who died January/21/1827 aged 40 years.
Also to Catherine, daughter of Jacob and Catherine Hodgson, of West Auckland and granddaughter of the above who died August/16/1840 aged 7 years.
Also Catherine, wife of Jacob Hodgson and daughter of the above Francis and Mary Maugham. She died deeply ?????? Oct/18?/??
(sorry that part is weathered) aged 39?
Also Richard, son of the above Catherine Hodgson, who died November/21/1851 aged 7 years.

Hi Adam, many thanks for the inscription details. I can't see a family tie-in, but the area is a relative hotspot for Maughan(m)s, so there may well be a link somewhere. Ian

Hello Keren. Here are the inscriptions for Kilburn:-

Ann, wife of William Byeres Kilburn, surgeon of West Auckland who died June/25/1860 aged 30 years.

This next stone is very weathered . Here is what can be read.
John  urn(kilburn?) of West Auckland, surgeon who died Ju??/1/1852.
And at the bottom of the stone is lSA 21/1837.

Would it be possible to post the Alderson MI for me.
Believe my Gt Gt Gt grandfather could be Thomas Alderson b Arkendale, Swaledale 1809.
He appears on the 1851 census as father of my Gt Gt grandmother Isabella wilkes b 1848 Shildon mother Unknown. Her marriage cert (1866) however gives no fathers name but a Thomas Alderson is a witness.
Any info on Thomas & family would be appreciated.
