Browsing came across your enquiry, probably long since satisfied.  Rev James Walker was son of Andrew Walker as was Robert Walker my 3ggrandfather. The attached PDF may give you a few clues to help. Although it is missing a lot much of the info cae from Caroline Carghill Walker who my grandfather knew.

Archibald Brown - Message for CANISP
« Reply #47 on: Monday 08 October 12 12:31 BST (UK) »
Hi, looking to get in touch with Canisp who posted about an Archibald Brown who was born and died in Carnwath, married to Margaret Brown who died in West Linton in 1868.  You also posted about James Brown and Grizzel Craig.  Archibald Brown was my Great Great Great Grandfather via his son David Brown and I saw your posts and wondered if you had any information on them all - I have been online trying to find out a bit more but there are a lot of people with the same name and I wondered how you managed to trace the line.

Many thanks,
Iona McCulloch

Hello Iona, welcome to Rootschat.

Archibald Brown (1799-1845) was also my GGG Grandfather - through his daughter Janet. The info I have on my Brown ancestors has been put together using various online sources - Scotland's People, Ancestry.com, LDS IGI familysearch.org as well as burial records, monumental inscriptions  and visits to Register House in Edinburgh. After you have made 3 posts on Rootschat you should be able to use the PM (Private Message) facility. If you send me your e-mail address by PM I can send you the details I have on Archibald Brown and his ancestors.

Cheers,
Canisp.

Hi Iona

Welcome to RootsChat from me too  :)

You need to make a couple more posts here on the main boards before your personal message service (PMs) is activated. See www.rootschat.com/help/pms.php

The PMs is a good way to exchange personal info, such as emails etc.

Monica

PS: How exciting Canisp that you have found another relative  ;)

Hi all,

What a brilliant thread.

Lodger, may I be so bold as to ask if you can see any Russells buried in Carnwath, please? They were certainly in Carnwath during the 1800-1850 period.

Thanks,

Matt.

Hi Lodger,

Thanks for that,

I am interested to see if any David Russell's are recorded in the 1800-1841 timeframe, please.

Many thanks,

Matt :)

Hi Matt,

No David's, sorry. The records only begin at 1826 for the burial book. There are a few mortcloth records for Carnwath but they only cover the period 1716 - 1729, too early for you.
Back to the drawing board I'm afraid!
