from analysis of Griffths data (1850s)

top 10 counties using the spelling 'Mc Kenna'

1.      Monaghan      712
2.      Derry      202
3.      Armagh      159
4.      Louth      132
5.      Tyrone      123
6.      Antrim      106
7.      Dublin      63
8.      Fermanagh      61
9.      Down      54
10.      Meath      53

there are a few variations of spelling on Griffiths, The version with the space seems to be more common.
