John Suddick
« on: Wednesday 10 June 09 19:00 BST (UK) »
I am looking for John Suddick b) 14 Feb 1819  in Sunderland. He's around on the 1841 and 1861,1871 and 1881 census but I cannot locate him on the 1851 census although it looks like he has continued to live in the Sunderland area the entire time. He should be somewhere with his wife Isabelle who he married around 1840 ish.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have access to the 1851 census?

Try Suddich, HO107/2397 9 10

Hi
I found John on the 1851 census aged 32 and a joiner still living in Sunderland
He is with his wife and daughter Mary
I like his wifes name before she was married. Isabella Smurfit Hunter, that was posh. They were married on 5th August 1839 in Sunderland.
As you might have seen him on the 1881 census he is a widower living with Mary Hannah aged 24 and her husband William Wake and two daughters
Do you know his middle name is Wilson?

Hi
I find most of the info on family search.org which is the Latter Day Saints free site.
The census bit was from Genes Reunited so I cant really give you a link to that

You can get details of the marriage in order to get the certificate on www.freebmd.org.uk
The Durham Bishops' Transcripts for Sunderland may be helpful too.

hi,

It was the date of marriage I was most interested in as I cannot find the page in the transcripts on familysearch.

You don't need the transcripts for the marriage.  It is on the IGI part of www.familysearch.org     Just put his name and the year in and it will come up.   It is an extracted record so should be accurate - assuming it is the right couple.    Getting a birth certificate for one of the children will give her maiden name.
