Scottish Records Office.
« on: Tuesday 09 June 09 22:45 BST (UK) »
Hi all

I am so sorry to bother you but I am hoping that someone who Visits the Scottish Records Office can do a search for me on George, Hannah, James, Susan and John Phillips all born between 1918 and 1927 in Calton Glasgow and linking them to Number 3 Gibson Street with their parents Sarah and Robert Phillips.
I am sorry if this is a big task, but I do appreciate your valid time and effort.  :)

Pauline.

Hi Woodentop2u

Why don't you register with http://www/scotlandspeople.gov.uk and do some searches.  £6 will get you 30 credits and one 'success' will cost you 6 credits.

You have first names and a surname as well as 'Calton Glasgow' so it should be easy enough.

I've just done a quick search and found that there is 1 match for a 'George Phillips' matching your criteria in 1919 and 1 match for a 'James Phillips' born in 1920 and another in 1921 if that's any help.  There was nothing for either of the girls so it could be their births were registerd in another district.

Regards

Aye mair questions than answers in a world where the past was a different place - that cannae be revisited!

Family surnames being researched ...
Crawford, Neilson, Lindsay, Reekie, Davidson
Drummond, Laing, Pearson, Tulloch ... will do for starters but there's a whole lot more!

Unfortunately for births after 1908, you have to send off for certs  - works out at £50.00 for the 5 requests - whereas if someone is in there doing their own research..... :O)

Regards,   Steve  :)

Many thanks for your replies Chiad, Piglet and Scottish Lassy  :)  It's very much appreciated. I will keep your generous offer in mind Scottish Lassy, that's if I have any problems with my search.
Thankyou Chiad, at least I have the birth year to work on as a starter.

Hi Albannach1876.

Thankyou for the research you undertook for me. It is so nice when members from forums such as this offer to help other members and carry out research on their behalf.
