Can Biro be removed?
« on: Sunday 07 June 09 00:09 BST (UK) »
Please could anyone advise me how to remove the biro from this one and only photo I have of my grandfather. Also any inkling of the age of the photo would be a great help. He was born in 1868 if that's any help.
Any ideas greatly appreciated Thanks Luckyjo

Hello Luckyjo, and welcome to Rootschat  :)

The best way to remove the biro is to let our restorers have a go at removing it digitally.  I am a photograph conservator by profession and I would think at least twice about trying to remove the actual biro from the physical photograph...it would be very difficult and possibly not very successful.

Don't worry, the Rootschat restoration experts will no doubt be along shortly and you will have plenty of restored images to choose from  :D

Cheers

Wow, thanks so much you lovely people, I always wondered what old Enoch looked like. Apparently he was pretty horrid used to nail the chooks to the floor boards to fatten them up for christmas..no kidding! Joy
