Information removed due to copyright violation. See http://www.rootschat.com/forum/copyright.php for more details

RootsChat must deal with any breach of copyright by its members.

For some time the team of Copyright Editors has been removing breaches of copyright and sending detailed personal messages to the member that had posted the information.  Due to the volume of posts and members this is now impractical.  Messages in breach will simply be deleted and this notice posted.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused but are sure you will appreciate the importance of this issue.

We have searched for the Leven, Fife connection but without success and the Fifeshire connection throws up multiple candidates.

Any help welcome

Mel

Just a few then Mel!  :o a daunting task indeed.  I expect you know his HCB number is 2268.

There is a Pte R Cunningham on the Largo Parish War Memorial,  but no unit mentioned, it is only a few miles from Leven.  Couldn't see anyone with that name on the Scoonie (Leven) War Memorial, or on Markinch's War Memorial.

Well ...... just a few  :P

It becomes a real problem when you are dealing with a common name and the only information that you have is the SDGW and a basic CWGC entry. Mind you, we have completed over 300+, so I think that we ought to be realistic that there are going to be some that are insoluble ....... but, it would be nice to give Robert and the seven others at least a crack of the whip.

Robert Cunningham    son of  Matthew,Catherine abt 1894  Buckhaven,  Wemyss  Fife .

Also, this one above could be relevant for the 'Largo'  War Memorial connection.

Yes, you have got to try Mel, and I suppose at least "no result" though not satisfactory, is still a result if you have done your best to seek out the information.

Would I find out anymore at Kew do you think?  Probably not, as his service records would show already on Ancestry if they were there.  ???
