Tracing THOMASON from Wirral UK to Sydney Australia Around 1930's
« on: Friday 05 June 09 13:33 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find Leslie and Glen Thomason. There mother is / was Ruby Edna May Thomason (nee Blackman). I have obtained her death notice it reads as follows "Thomason, Ruby known as Edna - March 12, 2005 late of Harboard, loving wife of Arthur (deceased) loving mother and mother-in-law of Leslie, Glen and Brenda, cherished grandmother and great grandmother will be sadly missed by all her family and friends aged 92 now rest in peace the relatives and friends of Ruby are respectivefully invited to attend her Funeral Service to be held in the East Chapel of the Northern Suburbs Crematorium Ryde this Wednesday 16 March 2005 commencing at 2.30pm".

Ruby was married to my relative Arthur Thomason (who emigrated with his brother William as children with their parents William Senior and Mary Elizabeth nee Taylor in around 1930) and I am trying to trace them and their offsprings.  Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated.

PS. I am new to here so hopefully I have done this correctly.

Kind regards Bunnykins  :D

I can only suggest you search on

Perhaps initially in New South Wales.

Hi Bunny and welcome to Rootschat.

As well as searching the phone book you could also try contacting the Funeral Director who may be able to give you an address of the person who organised the funeral.  Some R'chatters have had excellent results with this.

Or you could contact the crematorium who may be able to help.

If you don't have the funeral notice post again and I can do a lookup in the Sydney newspaper but I won't be at the library till Wednesday next week.

Please post again if you find it before.

Cheers, Judith

Hi,
There is small service history digitised for ARTHUR THOMASON .
His Next of Kin is RUBY EDNA MAY and their address at the time is 43 Whistler Street Manly.
He was discharged in 1945 on compassionate grounds.
