I need a lookup for the following family...many thanks in advance for all the help!!

James Simpson b. abt  1816
Margaret b. abt 1817
Maria b. abt 1855 Ashton
Alice b. abt 1861      "
James b. 1863         "

I'm pretty sure that the deaths I found in 1876 & 72 are the parents as Alice and James were living with Maria and her husband on the 81 census.

The handwriting is quite bad on the census so this is the best of what I could make out.

Do you think this is the right family Electra because i think I have found them in 1861 with another elder sibling?

Also Mary Vaughn is transcribed as Mary Vernon in this particular census and she is James's stepdaughter.

Interesting that Mary Vernon is James stepdaughter and John Frost is James son. Mmmmm Margaret must have been married before or something.

That is so wonderful!!

I always thought that Margaret's surname was Lattice but since Mary showed up I did a search on familysearch and found a Margaret Vaughn marrying John Latus in 1851. I'm still confused about the birthdates of these children and everything else.

James must have married before this and had some of the older children since I don't have him marrying Margaret until 1853...
I'm confused but that's pretty normal LOL

I don't suppose that you have access to the 1851 and could take a look for James? If not no worries.
