The IGI is pretty accurate if you look at Extracted records

Submitted ones have to be treated with caution - sometimes they are correct - often they are vague and nothing more than a guess.

It looks like the family  found in 1841 is the correct family - do you have the 1851/61 census for the family - if you require them please ask

I'll have a look on the IGI for Thomas'father

Hi,
Thanks for all the info. I don't have any census records for this family and would love any info you have.
Has anyone found Thomas father. I've had no luck at all

Hi Renae,

I have looked at this again and yes, as you said IGI has 2 Thomas's born around same time ::)
I now think that as your Thomas did not name a son Samuel, it is unlikely that Samuel is his Father.

So that brings us back to Thomas as being the possible one.
The 1841 Census Suzard posted for you is the right one but she has accidentally missed off;

Thomas Owen, born 1799 must have died by 1881 Census.
They were hard to find but have found Elizabeth by following Arthur born 1868.

Hi trish

I had similar thought to you re Thomas' father

Apologies for omitting Elizabeth daughter from 1841 census - guess the bi focals are overdue a clean!!!

I read the 1851 census slightly differently
address I read as Woodyard Cottage
and the lodger I read as John beard Lodger M 29 Journeyman joiner Allbrighton

Hi all,
Thanks once again for all the info. I'm getting confused now though!

There is a Thomas Owen in the 1881 census listed as 61. That would mean he was born in 1820. I don't have any Thomas' born at that time. Do you know where he fits in?
The only other Thomas' I have are
thomas Owen b.1833, Worcester
Thomas Hudson Owen b.1889 Victoria, australia

Here is some more info I have. I got alot of it from this site from my other tread titled "Florence louisa Reynolds"
My direct line came from William Owen b.1839 Bridgnorth son of Thomas Owen and Elizabeth Beard
He married Sarah Hudson b. Cardington, Salop.
They came to Australia on The "Hampshire" in 1872
One of there sons was William ernest Owen b.1868 Quatford
He married Florence Louisa Reynolds in 1888
One of there sons was Alfred John Owen b. 1910 in Victoria Australia. This is my grandfather.

I hope I ave got the right line as all we knew at the start was my great grandfather was William Ernest Owen b.1868, quatford and we had his mother or grandmas name as Sarah Hudson

Thanks agian
