Can someone tell me which Goodman family started the Goodman Feilder group company in nz. names possibly. thanks lnr

Patrick GOODMAN, who established Quality Bakers Co-operative  in New Zealand in 1968.
In 1986 Goodman Fielder Ltd was established with the merger of Goodman Group Ltd ( New Zealand ) and Allied Mills Ltd .

There is an interesting article (and a pic) of a Mr Thomas GOODMAN  born 1821 in Nottingham England, where he apprenticed in the  Baker and Confectioner business. He arrived in NZ in 1843 and eventually ended up in Motueka in 1867 where he started his own bakery business. Retired in 1903. Died 1905

Other articles etc found though, say Thomas GOODMAN was born leicestershire, rather than Nottinghamshire.

If you google:  "Thomas GOODMAN" Motueka there is a lot of information to be found

Hi Ambly . Thanks so much for that info, very much appreciated, We have Goodmans in our family and it was once said that they were related but as I can see from this we are not as ours came from cornwall and came on the Woodlark in 1873  .Regards lnr
