THe only female McTavish birth  that I can see on the North Wales BMD is 1926, Welshpool RD which includes Forden. The name begins with an A and second name begins with an M . I don't want to mention the full names as she might be still alive :-\

If  this is the correct one , I can give you the birth registration reference number and you'll then be able to order the certificate and find out her parents' names.

Sorry if this sounds a  bit cagey but Rootschat's policy is not to mention names of living people

There are three other McTavish births (all males) between 1920 and 1926 in Welshpool RD. One could possibly  be a twin to the female that I've referred to.

The GRO ref  (Forden) gives her mother's surname as Hughes. The male has the same ref. so they would have been twins.

Her birth cert ref is:

Sept q, 1926, Forden vol 11b page 253

This will give her father's name.

I'll see if I can find a marriage between a Mctavish and a Hughes and get back to you.

Strange - the only one that I can find is between a Donald William Mctavish and either an Alice Evans or an Olive Maud Williams, Welshpool, 1920

I think getting the birth cert might be your best way of finding her parents' names.

Marriage is registered Sep qtr  1920. It was a Civil marriage, so unfortunately won`t be in Parish Registers, you will have to pay for  the certificate. :(
Could Alice have been a widow , MMN Hughes and married a Evans  ???

Deaths, could Donald have moved away after Alice died.
Alice McTavish  born c 1887 died 1971 Welshpool Montgomeryshire
Donald William McTavish born c 1888 died  1974 Barnsley Yorkshire West Riding,

There is this record for 1901, the age matches ,
but you will have to get the marriage certificate of Donald
to confirm  his fathers name and occupation. This will also show if Alice was indeed a widow.
