COMPLETED Lookup please Rookwood Launcelot STOPPS COMPLETED

Can anyone with the CD for Rookwood please look up to see if Launcelot STOPPS is listed.

I know he was born in Aston Rowant in 1828 and came to Australia on the "Canton" in 1848 aged 20.

However in NSWBDM I can only find his death listed as 1910 at Granville. Maybe he didn't get married and have any children but I find that hard to believe.

I was hoping to find more information from the Rookwood records.

I am wondering why you think he was buried at Rookwood?

He is not listed as having a headstone at Rookwood.

You can search some of Rookwood's online burial records - I couldn't find his name in the following sites

Lancelot STOPPS does not appear on the 1903 Electoral Roll for New South Wales.

I have searched for a marriage for him in Vic, Qld, NSW, WA and Tasmania.  I can't see him named as father on any STOPPS' births registrations.

His name does not appear on the NSW Sands Directories to 1910.

You could purchase a transcription of his death certificate from a transcription agent. This would give you his place of burial and the answers you require, if his personal  information was known to the informant.

Many thanks for doing so much work for me, as you can see Lancelot or Launcelot vanished for about 60 years or so. I don't think he went back to England for some time as he doesn't show up in any UK Census records.

I will follow up with one of the transcription agents you have given me. Do you know how much this may cost?

Barry I think it around the $17 mark....  It is considerably cheaper than purchasing a cert and the transcription is emailed to you.
