Hi ,
My gr.gr.grandmother Maria Ellis died on 19 February 1895.
She was living with her son George Ellis at Peny Mynydd
Dymerchion.I was wondering if there might be an obituary and are the papers kept at the record office.I am looking for mourners, specifically my grandmother Sarah Ann Davies.
Grasping at straws here i know, but worth a chance.
           Thank you  Joyce (kidsnana)

Still think obituary's is a good Idea :) but I couldn't see any in the County Herald or the Flintshire Obsever end of Feb early March 1895 :(

I didn't have time to look at the Prestatyn or Rhyl Journals. I will next time.

Paul.
from sunny North Wales (for today at least) ;D

Hello Joyce, I couldn't see anything in the Rhyl Journal or weekly news :(
Prestatyn journal didn't start till 1908/9 ::)

I can't remember :-\ have we tried chapel records in the area?

Paul.

Hi Paul,
Thanks once again, why does'nt she want to be found.!!!!!Maria had a huge family so i really thought there might have been an obit. and Sarah might have been there.
I dont think we have tried chapels, what might we find.
Warmest wishes from sunny Florida to sunny Wales

Info from chapels can be a bit patchy but might be worth a look. I'm game if you are ; I'll have a look in the index's and see what's what.
It might take a bit longer as they're not on film.

Paul from a very sunny North Wales :)

Spoke to a lady today who has been searching local papers for years.
She told me they didn't do obituary's before 1900 ::)

The only nonconformist records I could see for the area around Sarah's birth.
Dyserth. Mynydd Seion Wesleyan. birth & baptisms. 1860 - 1955 :(
Meliden. Salem Wesleyan. b&b 1856 - 1971. :(
Rhuddlan. Wesleyan. b&b 1860 - 1900. :(

Plenty of Chapels but they are the only ones with records covering Sarah's b&b :(

Paul.
