Contact Rothe Housein Kilkenny City.  They keep a lot of geneaological Databases and may be able to help.

for your information Mothel is in the Ballyfoyle area and this may also be in the Castlecomer BMD registration district.

No problem Marlee, used to work in Kilkenny for 15 years, so am reasonably familiar with the area.  I also know that coolcullen is on the Co. Kilkenny/Co.Carlow border. When you go over the bridge y ou are in Carlow town.  So if I wereyou Id definately try Rothe House.
They can help you.

Regards,

Summerhill.

:)Summerhill thank you so much for your help ..could you tell me should i write to ask for a specific birth ect or general info on Price family Kilkenny in 1800s as you can tell i am new to this ..i have a copy of Joseph Prices obituary .he died in 1901 in england ..he joined the Kilkenny Fusiliers in Limerick age approx 18/19 and then served  abrroad and married in England in approx 1875 ..he was still a barracks sergeant when he died ..on his marrage cert it says father deceased and gives fathers name as  William his occupation was described as a military pensioner deceased .i have looked at the marriage William price of Kilkenny  on brs geneology .it was not the William who married Rebecca ..i am told Price is an unusual surname in Ireland but cannot find any info ..if Rebecca lived in Kilkenny and died there (i have a copy of a death cert for Rebecca Price died Kilkenny 1877 if William price was from somewhere else i wonder why his son Joseph would have been christened in mothell Kilkenny ..well forgive my rambling best wishes Marlee

HI There, No problem. Now I would suggest that when you contact Rothe House ,Parliament Street, Kilkennyyou give them as much details as you can.
They will be able to help you much better than I, as they have access to alot of records . seeing that your grandfather was in the Royal Fusiliers there has always been a military Barracks in Kilkenny and one in castlecomer. also I think the reason for the child being baptised in Mothel could be that Rebecca came home to kilkenny for the birth of her child and Mothel may have been her parish church. Also could william have been stationed in Kilkenny at the time?? well a search through the church records may help as far as I know Rothe house keep copies of church records  both catholic & protestant churches. And inMothel thereisa Church of Ireland Church & a catholic one.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Summerhill

Sedandon.
thanks for your message i got as far back as Joseph Price and Fanny Price
they married in London and they were my Great Grand parents.
Joseph died in 1901 .
on their marrage cert Josephs father is given as William (pensioner deceased).got a copy of Josephs baptisam entry from the church at coolcullen .his mother is Named as Rebecca and his father as William.
got a copy of Josephs obituary from archives it states he enlisted in Limerick.
i have not been able to get back from this information i have .despite several attempts.
Joseph and Fanny had several children .the oldest was William then Rebecca then several boys
going forward is no trouble it is getting back from Joseph and Fanny that is the problem.
there are not many deaths for a William Price in Coolcullen . think just one in 1855ish. but cannot be sure it is my William
have a copy of a death cert of Rebecca Price died in Coolcullan and she was named on it as the widow of a military pensioner.
found a marrage for a William Price in coolcullan but it was not my William as the wifes name was not Rebecca
am unable to go back further i have no idea were to look i was hoping to find William and Rebeccas marrage entry .but despite attempts have no idea where they married or Rebeccas maiden name.
